The first Communication Wizard was introduced more than six years ago, and it changed the way communication happens in Rock. Our Wizard steps you through the communication process—whether itʼs an email, text or push notification—bringing magic to your message.

Whatʼs New in Communication Wizard v2?

The Communication Wizard v2 will change how you send communications once again. If you spent hours coding communication templates or branding your emails, you will be shocked at the ease and flexibility of our refreshed Wizard.

Pretty magical, right? And thatʼs just the beginning—even more powerful features are on the way to track analytics and simplify template building.

The Communication Wizard v2 is in Rock v17 as a "preview" feature, we want you to test and experience this powerful tool right away. Keep in mind, you may experience bugs while testing the Wizard, so please approach your testing with this in mind.

Testing: For The Early Birds

We encourage you to start this new communication journey with a "test" message. To try the new Wizard, make sure your Rock instance is running v17, then head to People > New Communication (Preview) in Rock.

Things to try:

  • 🛠️Test the new Email Builder. Try to recreate your current template in record time.
  • ✉️Save your email as a template and use it again.
  • 👍Send an emoji from the SMS screen.

During this testing process you can click Send Test on any email or once your communication is ready you can Save as Draft. This approach allows you to identify and report any critical issues.

If you find that the Wizard is working smoothly, feel free to use it as your daily driver. This tool is made to handle mass communications with ease.

Our goal is to maximize testing and usage before we ship v18 when we anticipate removing the "preview" label from the new Communication Wizard.
