Overview

This document covers the steps required to copy, clean and then send your database to Spark for use in internal testing.

The process assumes you are using an Azure database, though many of the steps will be the same even if you are running on-premise SQL. In the case of on-premise, you will need to work through the steps of making a copy of your database yourself as each installation is different.

This document also makes the assumption that you do not have a local development/testing environment. If you do, you can drastically speed up the operation by downloading the database from Azure before running the scrubbing tool on it. In testing on an 80GB database, it takes around 15-20 minutes to scrub locally and over 4 hours to scrub on Azure.
