Custom location services

Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to create a custom location service?  The manual says it can be done by a developer, and while I'm a developer, I have no idea where this information is stored.

I use Rock in Australia, and SmartyStreets isn't available free here, and Bing is near useless (removing all unit numbers and resetting the suburb back to the closest major city).  Mappify.io offers a free API that works well, but I need to integrate it in with Rock.

Anyone willing to give me some pointers?  I don't mind editing an existing one if that's easier (still don't know where they are), and can change the API, parameters and field matching.

Thanks in advance!

Dave.

I doubt "this is how to create a new location provider" documentation exists, but don't let that stop you! I would ask this in the #develop channel of the Rock Slack team. You will likely get more responses there, especially from a core developer. At the very least they will be able to point you to existing code so you can use it as a starting point, I think. If you're not already part of the Slack team, you can join at https://rockrms.com/slack

Hey Dave,  if you still need that custom location service using mappify.io, I created one as I ran into the same issue. It's not in the Rock Shop (yet), but you could install it yourself from the release on GitHub here.  Install info is in the wiki and it is working for the latest (at the time of this post) 10.3 release  Hope it's useful, to you or any other Aussie churches using Rock.

    Cheers
