Cant add New Family

When Adding a new family. After selecting finish an Error Message comes up saying the wait operation timed out. Any Idea what the problem could be

    Hi Trystin,

    Pretty tough to say for sure without a little more info, but off the cuff it sounds as though the server(s) are overly busy for some reason.... or perhaps the database went offline.  Are you able to navigate around Rock without delays?  As your navigate, does each page load in under 1 second?  What happens if you edit/update a current family... is there a timeout?

    We'll figure this out! :-)

    Everything else works perfectly as per normal it is only when add a new family

    Thanks Trystin.  Confirming, this is a new problem that crept up or was it always the case since the DB was first installed?

    If it's a new problem, any recent changes to Person Attributes, or to the Person Entity such as Campuses, Connection Status, Family Roles, etc?

    We are ALSO having this problem since updating to v8.6. We were able to target that the timeout error ONLY occurs if a custom attribute is populated. For instance, we were capturing school and an "entry point" field in our new family form and if those fields are left empty, creation of a new family goes through just fine. If you add a value to any of the custom fields, the error gets thrown.

    We were able to pin point the issue and have fixed it in the upcoming v8.8 release.  https://github.com/SparkDevNetwork/Rock/issues/3652 

    As a workaround, it's also possible to set your database READ COMMITTED SNAPSHOT to the "On" mode which would also avoid the problem.
