Is installation on a shared ASP.NET web host possible?

All the documentation seems to imply that you need your own machine or VM. Is it possible to install onto a shared web host?
I am having an issue where I am at the first stage when I put in the Database Configuration, but when i click on "Next" nothing happens.

Hi Ernest! It is possible to install on a shared web host but not preferred from a performance and control of your system resources perspective.
