Installation Problem

I'm getting this error when trying to install. I've checked several times and I have the latest version of dot net framework. Am I missing something?

"The server does not have the correct .Net runtime. You have .Net version 4.4.0.30319.0 Rock requires version 4.5.1."

You need to install the .net framework update:

Hi Michael.  Where are you installing to?  Can you confirm the SERVER (not you) has the right .NET version?  I can't help you past that thought. K

I'm installing it on a surface pro tablet running windows 8. Does it need to be running a flavor of windows server?

Hi Michael.  Are you trying to install a local version of Rock on your local tablet, or have you signed up to a web hosting plan and are you running the installation on that server?  Who are you using to host your web site?  It is the version of .NET on the server where you are installing Rock that is the issue.  Did you download the installation file onto your web host server, not onto your own tablet?

This is just a new installation on a local laptop. I have SQL and IIS running on the laptop. It will server as the server.
