Sandbox external site logs on directly to internal site, and I can't log off

I create a new domain to use as our sandbox (dev) site.

Copied the database to a new database, and copied the wwwroot files to the new domain, and edited the web.ConnectionStrings.Config file to point to the new database.

I updated the Global attributes

- Internal Application Root
- Organization Web Site
- Public Application Root

I'm also using DNS of a different ISP to point to the site.

When I try to logon to the external site, it goes straight to the internal site.  It just straight to http://www.mysite.org.nz/page/3?returnurl=%252f instead of to www.mysite.org.nz/page/1 .  If I type in www.mysite.org.nz/page/1 I get to the external site.

I cannot log off from either the external site or the internal site.

Have I missed a setting somewhere?

Clearing cache and clearing browser files didn't fix this.

    Ken,

I think you might also need to update the Domain(s) field in the "CMS Configuration/Sites" page for the new site.
This is how Rock determines which site should be loaded based on the domain name if the page is not actually specified in the URL.

Brilliant!  That worked.  Thank you, David.  That is a vital piece of information that needs to go into the Rock Hosting doc.  I'll make that recommendation.  Thanks again for answering.

Note both the 'External Website' and the 'Rock RMS' sites need to be updated.

    AND

You also need to change the URL on the Website Blog Channel (Home / CMS Configuration / Content Channels / Website Bog) and any other Content Channels where a URL has been specified.
