Step by Step Event Check-In Guide

I've read through the published guides from Rock RMS (Rock Your Groups, Check Out Checkin-In, etc) and they do a good job of overall knowledge, but is there a guide available that walks a novice through creating groups for VBS, adding members by age who may or may not go to the church and then finally setting up the check in procedures?  Whether it is free or not, I'm looking for a simple process that can be duplicated for various events usable each year.  Thanks much!

    Thanks again, Tim, but this did not solve my problem.  It was a great tutorial on setting up and event, but did nothing to guide me through VBS check-in and non-member grouping.  At this point, I am willing to pay someone to fix my site and also teach me to fish, metaphorically.  Know anyone?
