HELP! Getting reports data on a functional PAGE

Disclaimer: First time using Rock.

I consider myself a techy. I'm a vp of a SaaS company who worked his way up staring as the tech support manager, did web dev and now just manage the smart people... but still, I should be able to figure this out, so I apoligize in advance.

I TOTALLY get/understand creating data views and reports. What I can't figure out is how to get the reported data onto a page in a manner that is editable. Meaning I can click the people or groups that are produced by the report and drill down to the person data or group data.

So for instance, if i were to search for the name "John" and I had 32 people with the first name "John" in my system the view I see is able to click on any person listed in order to drill down to the details of that person... HOW CAN I CREATE PAGES LIKE THIS??? Based on my reports and data views!

If I'm not being clear, please let me know and I'll post some screen captures for clarity.

THANKS! :)

Hi Jono and welcome to the Rock community.  Do you mean: (1) from the report you want to be able to click a URL that takes you to the maintenance page of the Person or Group, or (2) that you want to be able to be able to create a report (table) IN WHICH you can directly edit the data?

    If the first:

You can do this from the Report, not the Data View.

For Person, add the 'Person name' field and make sure 'Show as link' is Yes.  This is a link through to the Person maintenance page.

You can also create this link manually: check out http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/6/49#displayingdatausingreports under 'The Power of Lava.'

    For Group:

    - add the Id field to your report, turn off Show in Grid. (The fields you use in Lava must be included in your report, even if not shown in the report grid.)

    - add the field Liquid and add this code:

    grplink.jpg

This gives you a direct link back to the Group page.

    This what you meant?

      Hey Jono,
I'm going to mark this as answered by Ken. If his answer wasn't quite what you were looking for mark it unanswered, comment back with a few more details, and we'll take another look at it.
