0 Draft Import MP3 files from Podcast Service Shared by Ryan Desch, My Well Ministry one year ago 16.1 CMS Intermediate One issue in Rock, especially when trying to add podcasts to an app, is getting the mp3 file link instead of just the url for the podcast itself. The mp3 file link is usually hidden and multiple clicks down, so to make things easier I created a way to import the data from the Podcast api and place it into a Defined Type of podcasts. This recipe has the web request setup for Transistor.fm. I have also used this with Buzzsprout, but so is univeral, but will require you to sift through the api to get your correct results Setup Create a Defined Type, I named mine Sermon Podcasts Create Defined values for how many items you want to be available, I created 10. And give them each an arbitraty value ie podcase1 Workflow I have included my workflow. If you are using transistor.fm you can use it as it, adding your own api key, and changing the "show_id" to the id of your show. If you are using a different service I suggest using the lava tester to get the info, and change the workflow accordingly. Once your workflow is working, I suggest creating a system job "Launch Workflow" to run once a week after the podcast is uploaded. Alternatively this could be run manually by running the workflow, but I'm all for automation. Content Channel In your content channel for your sermons, add a defined value attribute. Select the defined value you created above. Now you will have a dropdown of your podcasts. To use these in a mobile app or website, you will need to pull the attribute from the content channel item, then the description is the mp3 link. Download File
