We created a simple workflow that allows you to add a Connection Request directly from the Person Profile page.

Begin by going to Admin Tools>General Settings>Workflow Configuration. We created a category for "Connections" and then added the workflow to that category.
Add the following Details: Name, Description, Work Term and Icon CSS class (we chose fa fa-plug).

CR 1.PNG

Add the following Attributes: Person, Connection Opportunity, Connection Status, Campus, Connection Comment and Workflow Activity.

CR 2.PNG

Add an Activity called: “Launch from Person Profile Page”. Make it “Active” and “Activated with Workflow”.

CR 3.PNG

Add an Action titled: “Set Person” and select the Action Type: “Attribute Set from Entity”. Select the Attribute of “Person”. Set Entity Is Required to “Yes” and Use Id instead of Guid to “No”.

CR 4.PNG

Add another Action titled: “Entry”. Select the Action Type: “User Entry Form”, Notification Email: “Workflow Form Notification” and check Include Actions in Email.

CR 5.PNG

Scroll down to Form Fields and make each Attribute (except the Workflow Activity Attribute) Visible, Editable and Required.

CR 6.PNG

By editing the Command Label field and Button Type you can change the look of the Submit button. Edit the Response Text to change the success message after the Connection Request has been added (We use: “Your Connection Request has been added successfully.”)

CR 7.PNG

Add another Activity called “Create Connection Activity”. Select the Action Type of “Connection Request Create”. Select the Person Attribute of “Person”, Connection Opportunity Attribute of “Connection Opportunity”, Connection Status Attribute of “Connection Status”.

CR 8.PNG

Select the Campus Attribute of “Campus”,  and the Connection Comment Attribute of “Connection Comment”.

CR 9.PNG

Create another Action called “Complete Workflow”. Select the Action Type of “Workflow Complete” and the Status of “Completed”. Click Save to save your workflow.

CR 10.PNG

Now we need to add the new workflow to the Actions tab on the Person Profile page. Navigate to any Person Profile page and click the Block Configuration button on the Admin Tool bar.

CR 11.PNG

Click on Block Properties (the gear icon) on the Bio fly out bar.

CR 12.PNG

Click on the Workflow Actions drop down box and select your newly created workflow.

CR 13.PNG

Refresh the Profile page and then click on the Actions drop down to view your workflow options.
