List View

Clicking the ti ti-layout-list List button on any Connection Type or Connection Opportunity will take you to the Connections List, pictured below.

  1. Requests View - Pick the Requests you are viewing. Select from My Requests, those where you have an active request assigned to you, or All Requests, to see it all.
  2. Opportunity Picker - Select the opportunity you want to focus on, or hover and click the x button to view all opportunities in this type at once.
  3. Campus Picker - Select between viewing All Campuses, or pick just one for a focused view.
  4. Action Bar
    1. Total Requests - See the number of total requests, active or inactive, and how it changes based on the settings you configure.
    2. ti ti-search Search - Quick search through the names of Requesters.
    3. ti ti-adjustments-horizontal Settings - Customize your display using View Options to select specific grid columns or apply custom sorts and filters. Detailed instructions are provided below.
    4. ti ti-square-plus Add a New Item - Click this to add a new request. Use Alt+N to add even faster.
    5. ti ti-maximize Fullscreen - View the entire canvas in full screen mode, allowing you to focus on your connections.
    6. ti ti-dots-vertical More - Select the ellipsis to access additional tools. From here, you can add connections from a Connections Campaign or enable Auto-Collapse, which automatically closes other panels when you expand a new one. You can also select Collapse All to quickly tidy up your view.
  5. Group By - Group By gives you a few more ways to organize the list. Along with Connector, State and Status, you can also group by Campus or Due Status. Campus helps you sort work by location. Due Status helps you spot what needs attention first. Note that the Opportunity grouping is unavailable if your view is already filtered to a specific opportunity.
  6. Connector - Displays the individual assigned to manage the request. Depending on your current grouping settings, the Connector label may appear in different locations within the panel.
  7. Requester - This section displays details for the person being connected so you can take quick actions to keep things moving. Selecting the checkbox next to a requester opens a bulk selection toolbar where you can quickly Assign, Change Status, Launch Workflows, Complete requests and more for many requesters at once. For more information, see our Bulk Update Connection Requests article.
  8. Due Date - Indicates how close a request is to its deadline. This helps you prioritize your workload when managing a high volume of connections. Note that this column only appears if enabled in the ti ti-settings Settings.
  9. Celebrations - Celebrations are an exciting way to engage your team and update them on what's worth celebrating. To learn more, read on.
  10. Reminder - Allows you to add personal follow-up notes or reminders to a Requester. Existing reminders are visible upon clicking, ensuring you never miss a beat in your communication.
  11. Status/State - This pill indicates the requester's current progress. Click it to update their Status, add a Note, or Mark Complete. When a request moves to a non-active State, that change will also be reflected here.
  12. ti ti-dots-vertical More Options
    1. Set as Active - Marks an Inactive or Future Follow Up request as Active.
    2. Set as Inactive - Sets a request as Inactive.
    3. Set as Future Follow Up - Put Active or Inactive requests in a Future Follow Up State to freeze the request until a specific date, removing it from the Connectors active connections temporarily.
    4. Mark Complete - If the request is a candidate for completion (the requester meets group requirements for the Placement Group, etc.) you can mark this request as Complete, taking it off of your plate (or the connector's plate).
    5. Launch Workflow - Immediately launch a workflow for this requester. This is helpful when you want to do something like a background check.
    6. Delete - Delete the request and all of the activity for this request. Make sure you really don't need it anymore, you could just Inactivate it if you still want it available.

When you select ti ti-plus to add a request, Rock pre‑fills the campus and opportunity based on the active filters making adding faster and easier.

Tip

The List View Has Memory
Each time you change a setting on this view, Rock memorizes it. That means if you come back later, your list will have the same settings and preferences as before.

List View Options

If you want to pare down the things you see in the List View, click ti ti-settings to bring up the options below.

  1. Sort By - Pick the way each panel is sorted.
  2. Grid Data to Show - Pick extra columns to be added to the grid.
  3. Show Source of Request - Pick whether you can see the Connection Source (e.g., Connection Board) in the Opportunity column on a request. You will only see this option if Opportunity is enabled in the grid.
  4. Filter - Filter the requests shown based on State, Status and the stage of its Due Date. Having no boxes checked means all will be enabled.

Celebrations

Celebrations allow you to highlight specific requests to encourage your team when a significant milestone occurs. Because you decide what constitutes a "win," each celebration helps set the tone for your ministry and reminds your team of the real-life impact behind the tasks.

Click ti ti-confetti on a request to bring up a screen where you can share a story about connection.

Note

Only One Celebration
Each request can only have one active celebration at a time. This limitation is intentional, ensuring that each highlighted event maintains its significance.

Connection Request Detail (Docked View)

The Docked View is designed to keep you focused. When you select a person from the Connections List, their details "slide out" from the right side of your screen. This allows you to manage the specific needs of one individual while still keeping your full list in view.

  1. Requester Detail - View the person's essential identity, including their photo, age and marital status.
  2. Badges - Scan color-coded badges to quickly see the person's engagement and history.
  3. Quick Actions - Jump to the Person Profile or start a communication with one click.
  4. AI Summary - Review an AI-generated overview of recent interactions and recommended next steps. You can configure the summary to load automatically upon opening a request or set it to manual activation within the Connection Type settings. You can also configure the prompt used to generate a summary, to personalize it for your ministry. For more on how to do this, see the AI Providers article.
  5. Additional Requests - The section displays other active connections for an individual or their family members based on your Connection Type settings for Additional Requests. This allows you to monitor multiple needs or coordinate care for an entire household from a single view.
  6. Request Detail - Verify the Campus, assigned Connector and how long the request has been open.
  7. Available Actions - Launch specific manual processes like background checks or external inquiries.
  8. Comments - Review the original message or "story" submitted with the initial request.
  9. Request Source - Identify where the request started, such as a website or a physical connection card.
  10. Attributes - Track custom data points like orientation status or specific training dates.
  11. Edit - Modify the core request details, such as the assigned Connector or the current State.
  12. Complete - Finalize the connection to move the person into their assigned group.
  13. Transfer - Move the request to a different Connection Opportunity if a better fit is found.
  14. Add Activity - Record a new touchpoint, like a phone call or an in-person meeting.
  15. Status - Update the current progress pill to keep the whole team informed. Pick between your configured Statuses. You will also have the option to add a note alongside a Status change to give context to why this change happened.

The Activity Feed is the heartbeat of the connection request. It is a chronological history of every touchpoint between your organization and the requester. Scrolling just a little will show you this detailed view.

By default you will see Show All selected for the Activity Feed. To filter the activities shown here, click on Show All, and pick another view such as Request Notes or System Updates.

Use the arrows at the top of the docked view to move to the previous or next request. This makes it easy to review several people in a row without closing the panel each time.

Rock records every note or status change with a timestamp. This allows another staff member to pick up exactly where Alisha left off if she steps away.

Beyond just system changes, you can write personal notes to capture the "heart" of the conversation—like Ben's interest in working with the fourth-grade boys.

The feed also captures "behind-the-scenes" actions, such as when the system automatically assigns a connector or when a workflow changes a state.

By keeping an active feed, you aren't just managing a database; you are documenting a relationship.
