Content Channel for an Event Occurrence

I'm having some trouble getting my event registration tied to a content item.  I have my registration form created and the event appears in my public calendar as expected. You can see it here.  I also have a content item created and displaying as an add on the homepage.  What I would like is for the add on the homepage to take me to the registration instead of to the item detail page.

According to the documentation, I've set everything up correctly.

Is this the expected behavior or am I missing something?

Thanks!

    Hi Dan,

In the documentation it mentions a Details URL which you can use to force an event to go to a specific address rather than the details page. Did you try using the exact address of the registration in that field?

    Hi Jeremy -

The Details URL would be used when I want to hand registration off to a 3rd party (I think).  That's not what I'm looking for.  I want to keep the event page, it's working just as I would expect.  I'm really just trying to get people to it faster. I've created a content item that appears as a sub-ad on the homepage.  What I really want is something like a Details URL on the content item that takes me directly to the event registration instead of the content/item detail.

Essentially, I need a link on the homepage that takes me directly to the event registration.  I know I can just add a link but I was hoping to use the content item framework to accomplish it.
