Event Registration "Do Not Honor" error message

This is for anyone in the future who might search for this error message…

We had somone who received this message when they tried to register for an event:

An error occurred processing your registration
Do Not Honor (Do not honor.)

    I was stumped at first, but after some digging, I found that it is actually an error message from our payment processor, Network Merchants (NMI). This page lists the various errors that they might generate, including the one above:

    The description for this error says:

    The customer's bank is unwilling to accept the transaction. The customer will need to contact their bank for more details regarding this decline.

    Since I couldn't find anything in Rock chat, I thought I'd post this here to hopefully save someone a little time in the future.
