Zebra GX420d - Initializing

I have a Zebra GX420d that is inconsistent in printing. Sometimes it will print fine, other times it stops feeding early and says "initializing". (orange blinking light). This means part of the label is missing, and sometimes not all labels are printed. 

Does anyone have any input as to how I can track down the cause? I do not know a lot about Zebra label printers.

    I'd strongly suspect a bad power supply. Do you have a power supply from a different printer that you can try?

      I will try this.

      I bought these used and they all came with a “replacement power supply” - not zebra brand. If the issue persists i will purchase zebra brand and try that.
