View all people

Is there a way to simply view all people records in a list? In other systems I've used, there is a type of Admin group that contains all active records. It would be great to have access to something like this, but I don't see anything about it in the documentation, nor do I see a way to create a group that auto-populates based on particular criteria. Am I just missing it?

Check out Tools | Data Views. You can easily create a data view with no criteria (filters) that pulls up everyone in the database. Is that what you're looking for?

No filters is probably easier. I created a data view where Person ID greater than 0. That also pulls everyone in the database.

We're thinking of adding a 'Directory' block. This would look similar to the Tag list block 'People > Tags' with the alphabit at the top. This block would not be too useful for larger churches, but they could easily remove it from the navigation. Let us know if this would be valuable.

For larger churches, I think it would be very useful to add a simple Search Page for People which allows a combination of some of the more commonly-used search criteria (Connection Status, Campus, Gender, Marital Status, etc), to allow beginners to execute a multi-condition search quickly without needing to create a Data View. I think an option to save the quick search as a new Data View might also be useful as a way of introducing new users to the concept of how to create basic Data Views.
