How to display data view/report on home page?

When adding a data view/report detail block to the user home page, is there any way to set the the report via block context rather than in the URL?

For example: I added a Data View detail block to the homepage, but no data is displayed. There is no way to set the specific DataView from the block. If I add DataViewID=12 then data is displayed.

    Both the DataView and Report blocks are currently designed only to work with their respective navigation tree's so unfortunately you can't really add them to another page without a way to specify which view/report they should display. But, it's a great suggestion to submit here. Another option is to use the Dynamic Data block to generate the report. That allows you to specify parameters for your "report" in the block settings.
