Max Allowed in Small Groups

How is the maximum allowed number used on group types? I have tried various combinations and I have never found it preventing people from being assigned to a specific group type or registering for it when it was at the maximum. I would like to use it to restrict groups to a specific number being able to register for it. I was wondering if it could do that.

    Although the internal block for adding new members does check the max count property, the externally facing (GroupFinder and GroupRegistration) blocks do not.  I've opened an issue on your behalf to address this.
