I read the following comment in an earlier post: "The 'Mailing' flag is used to indicate what addresses should recieve mail. However, This is primarily to support future funcationaiity (i.e. mailing lables), as we have not yet written any code that uses this flag."

I am skimming the manuals while I look at our sandbox, which has been updated to v4.  Is it safe to assume that mailing labels were addressed in the latest update?
