Christ’s Church of Flagstaff: How To Make Ministry Personal Published Jul 8, 2016 A couple of years ago, 900-member Christʼs Church of Flagstaff, decided to look into a different church management system. Kevin Yoakum, Executive Pastor of this Flagstaff, Arizona-based church had heard about Rock RMS through the grapevine and decided to check it out. He liked what he found when it came to user interface and functionality. After making the decision to transition to Rock, the next big step was to communicate these plans to the staff and introduce them to the new system. The CCoF Rock implementation and leadership team spent half a day with the staff unveiling the features, tools, reports, and tracking abilities. Sometimes this part can be one of the most challenging for a church because, well - change. However, "this was such an upgrade from our previous ChMS that it was met with excitement," shares Kevin. Even their volunteers were enthusiastic about the switch to Rock. As volunteer Barbara mentioned, "Rock makes it really easy to input data! I'm so glad my church went to this system!" With their November 2014 Rock launch well behind them now, Kevin can easily narrow down his favorite feature. "My favorite tool is staff assignments. It assigns specific follow-up to each staff member for people in the church. Then it tracks their progress on involvement processes, baptisms, classes, neighborhood group sign-ups, etc." When we asked him why this feature was his top pick, Kevin got practical. "It has helped our team become more effective in following up with our people." Sounds like Kevin and the CCoF team have a winning strategy for making ministry personal. Top Tip: You won't start out know the full extent of Rockʼs capabilities, so ask more questions. You don't know what you don't know. If you have an idea on some feature you think would help your church and staff, ask about it!
