Communications Features Coming in v18 Published Oct 13, 2025 With the coming of v18, Rockʼs communications are getting a real... big... upgrade. Communication Flows Communication History (Refreshed) Communication Analytics (Refreshed) Communication Saturation Report Communication Preferences Communication Flows The biggest new thing is Communication Flows. This opens a door to communication that doesn't leak like a faucet, but flows like a river. What does that mean? You can send streams of communications such as Email, SMS or Push notifications without having to press the Send button each time. On top of that, you can goal-track for every flow, ensuring your communications do what they set out to do... make real changes. Imagine this scenario... you have a flood of new visitors at church this month—great! You want to get 40% of them to join your Starting Point Class. It’s an ambitious goal, and tracking this by hand would be tedious. You can put this plan into action more easily than you think with a Communication Flow. Just set a string of emails and messages that automatically send to a new attendee, each at just the right time, with the goal of getting them to your class. This isn't just about goal-completion. Itʼs about life change. See the docs here. Communication History (Refresh) Long after a communication is sent, itʼs still reaching people. Some churches have sent hundreds or even thousands of communications. Reaching back to pull out that old SMS message you sent could be a hassle, but itʼs no longer the case with the refreshed Communication History block. Filter communications quickly by the medium used (Email, SMS, Push), status, name, or even content within the message. See the docs here. Communication Analytics (Refresh) Now, we've sent a lot of communications at this point. What are people doing with them? Do they even care? The new Communication Analytics block brings more insights than you might expect. Check performance quickly and get answers about who received it and what they did with it. See analytics on: Link performance Unsubscribes/spam reports Email client used Demographics On top of this, you can check interactions by individual and see exactly how the communication looked as it was sent. See the docs here. Communication Saturation Report With all this communication power, it can be overwhelming. Imagine how the people opening messages might feel too. Since every communication matters, we should treat them that way. The Communication Saturation Report tracks who is receiving the biggest load. As you might imagine, an overwhelmed recipient may be inclined to unsubscribe—or worse, slowly pull away from your organization. By visualizing the message load, you can see who needs a break or even notice parts of your community that aren't getting enough. See the docs here. Communication Preferences The Email Preferences block has a fresh look that makes it easy to manage which emails you want to receive and which you don’t. This update provides a clear, user-friendly way to control your communication settings in one place. The screenshot below shows what a person sees after clicking Unsubscribe.Recipients who click Unsubscribe or go to set their preferences can quickly subscribe to or unsubscribe from Communication Lists and Flows, update their address, or simply change their email preferences. Recipients who click Unsubscribe or visit the Email Preference page can: Quickly unsubscribe from specific Communication Lists or Flows Update their email address Change their overall email preference (All Email, Personal Email, or No Email) Resubscribe if they change their mind Remove themselves completely from church involvement, if needed See the docs here. The truth is, each and every communication matters. Using Rock’s communication features, you have great power to send messages for anything and everything under the sun. Once sent, you can find any prior message even faster than you created it, see powerful analytics and insights, and get vitals on your recipients, making sure everyone feels heard.
