Northeast Christian Church: Discovering the Solution Published Feb 1, 2016 Rock isn't really about technology; itʼs about people and relationships. In that spirit, we're going to share the stories of the people and organizations that are using Rock to make a difference. This post is the first in a series we'll call "Church Profiles." About two years ago, Seth Thomas, Senior Minister of Northeast Christian Church in Grand Junction, Colorado, attended a conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Having just stepped into the role of full-time preacher in his congregation of 200, Seth was looking toward long-term stability and health for his church. A technology enthusiast, he'd been seeking an affordable software solution that could grow with their organization, and coincidentally, happened to hear about Rock at the February 2014 Large Church Pastorʼs Conference. Sethʼs interest moved from following Rock on Facebook to launching website features one year later, and childrenʼs check-in implementation within just a few months of that. The organizational size made data entry fairly simple, but it also kept Seth and his small staff extremely busy as they worked to move to the Rock platform. As he shared with Spark, "I'm the senior minister, and know I need to hand this project off, but haven't found the person in our church to do so just yet..." What features is Northeast Christian Church using to-date? We're glad you asked. Check-in, notes, and email communications, with a plan to configure Twilio soon for text messaging. "The interaction with the website is great also, which creates a one-stop-shop." When we asked Seth why he chose Rock as his technology partner for Northeast Christian Church, he shared, "I was looking for an affordable software solution to get in place, get familiar with, and be able to grow into it. I believe Rock is that solution." Top Tip: Use the communication features to set up delayed emails at the beginning of the month to send each week for people serving the upcoming weekend. Great time saver!
