Olive Branch Church: Superheroes in the Making Published Feb 23, 2016 A church of 350 people in rural north-central Indiana, Olive Branch Church has a small but mighty staff of five. Crystal Kirk, Office Manager, shared that while they used their previous ChMS tools consistently, they had to wade through a clumsy interface. At a conference at NewSpring Church in South Carolina in 2014, their team encountered Rock and decided to make the switch. Crystal, the four pastors, and a small team of volunteers spent a few weeks getting the database ready and flipped the switch the week before Easter 2015. Their first order of business? Childrenʼs check-in. "Rockʼs check-in has been a great addition for us, and our childrenʼs environments are much safer given the new system," shared Crystal. They especially appreciated the hardware recommendations and easy start up. "Now check-in is secure and a breeze to use!" And in 2015, for the first time, Olive Branch Church was able to use one application to track giving and issue year-end statements, instead of maneuvering back and forth between two unrelated programs. (We all know that time-saving is a true superpower – way to go Crystal!) When Crystal lists her favorite aspects of Rock, two at the top are mobile accessibility and cost-savings, both of which have helped their team of superheroes get more done with less. Crystal admitted that the team doesn't have it all figured out yet. But there is no reason to wait - itʼs possible to launch with the most necessary features for your organization and add more as you go. "While we may not be using Rock to itʼs highest potential just yet, it has been a huge asset to our church and our ministry here. We only continue to find new ways that Rock can help us track, grow and celebrate all that God is doing in rural Indiana!" Olive Branch Church is proving that dedicated ministry work and the right toolkit go together like Batman and Robin. Top Tip: Use the Rock tagging system, to monitor who takes what Next Step each year. "This helps us cultivate the numbers and ultimately celebrate what God is doing in our church as people take their next step in faith!"
