Don't use html blocks or pre/post functions with Javascript or CSS to modiy core function. Don't hook onto an element on the page unless it has a js. prefix or it will break on update. Document everything, and keep a change log. Don't use workflows as data storage or tables. Don't leave workflows running forever if not needed. Don't have hundreds or thousands of values in defined types. Dont test in production with tests that create a lot of new person records. Don't host development and production instances on the same server. Install security updates quickly. Share lessons learned. Do a health check on your system.
