We really like the new group scheduling process, but there's one place that it is incredibly cumbersome: cancellation notifications can only be sent to one person per group, regardless of how many schedules that group might have. In order to send out cancellation notices effectively, groups will need to be structured in non-optimal ways.
For example, consider a church with two services where children's ministry volunteers work primarily with the same age group. Volunteer Amy might work primarily with kindergarteners, usually during first service but occasionally during second. Each service has its own service coordinator, who needs to be notified when a role opens up.
The optimal group structure seems to be "kindergarten workers" with two schedules. Building a different group for each schedule entails a significant amount of duplication and rework. However, there's no way to sent announcements to the relevant person, nor is there a way to send announcements to more than one person.
