Block Rights Inheritance Change

CMS

Unless there is a technical or philosophical reason Rock operates the way it does regarding security on new block (in which case, just delete this idea), I'd like to see the system changed in the way it puts rights on new blocks added to a page.

Currently, if you have a page with inherited rights and you add a new block, the block gets the same inherited rights. This is working as expected. But if the page instead has Item rights and you add a new block, the block gets identical Item rights instead of inherited what the page already has.

Example. Here's a page with item rights:

And a new block added to that page gets duplicate item rights instead of inheriting what the page already has:

Block Security.png

This may seem like a minor nuisance, but it's painful when you have lots of pages with item rights (like on a public website) and every time you add a new block to a page, you have to remember to inspect the block security to remove the unnecessary item rights (thus allowing them to inherit from the page) or more likely, you forget to do this and then you change the rights on the page in the future and wonder why your block isn't following the new security... well, it's because it has item rights you forgot to remove way back when.

In my opinion, a block should always inherit from the page, unless you specifically want it to have different rights, which you then override yourself.
