Streamlined Connections: Optionally Hiding Place Group and State

Streamlined Connections: Optionally Hiding Place Group and State

Connection

Description:

I suggest enhancing the connections feature by giving administrators the option to hide irrelevant features like Placement Group and State Features from view and edit pages when they're not needed for a specific connection opportunity type. This improvement aims to simplify screens, leading to a smoother and more user-friendly experience.

Additional Details:

Alternatively, these options could be automatically hidden from edit screens when they're unnecessary, such as when only one state option is available or when no placement groups are defined.

Ministry Need Review:

This update directly addresses the need for a more streamlined and intuitive platform. By hiding unutilized features, we enhance efficiency and help users connect more effectively.

Covering the WHY:

Our decision to initially opt for a dedicated plugin for pastoral care was influenced by the cluttered screens in the Connections Block. We have pivoted back to Connections and are developing custom views via dynamic data blocks. Decluttering the connection request edit screen of unutilized remains difficult without adding extra undesirable CSS/JS. Connections has awesome potential to address many task-over-time related processes but its flexibility doesn't have to come at the cost of clean user interfaces.
