Capacity-Managed Single-Select Fields with Automated Waitlisting in Event Registration Blocks

Capacity-Managed Single-Select Fields with Automated Waitlisting in Event Registration Blocks

Event
The proposed enhancement aims to introduce a functionality within the core Event Registration blocks of ROCK RMS. This functionality will allow administrators to configure single-select fields with defined capacities. Once a capacity is reached, registrants selecting that option will be automatically waitlisted. This feature is distinct from current fee limits as it permits the registrant to complete the registration process, enabling administrators to easily manage waitlists and registration statuses. This will streamline the registration process for users and provide administrators with advanced tools for efficient event management.

Single-Select Field Capacity Management:

Implementation: Integrate a capacity setting for single-select fields within the Event Registration blocks.
Functionality: Once the defined capacity for a selection is reached, subsequent registrants choosing this option will be placed on a waitlist. This process will be seamless and will not require the registrant to alter their choice or refrain from selecting any fee-based options.

Waitlist Management:

Automatic Waitlisting: Registrants who select an option that has reached its capacity will be automatically waitlisted but allowed to complete the registration process.
Administrator Control: Administrators will have the capability to monitor and manage the waitlist, including the ability to remove individuals from the waitlist and confirm their registration if a spot becomes available. The system will clearly indicate which selection applies to each waitlisted registrant.

Use Case Scenarios:

Events with Limited Spaces: Ideal for events with strict attendance limits, ensuring efficient management of participant numbers.
Limited Supply Distribution: Useful for events where certain supplies or resources are limited, allowing accurate tracking and allocation.

Benefits

Enhanced User Experience: Registrants can complete the registration without interruption, even if their chosen option is at capacity.
Efficient Administration: Provides administrators with a robust tool for managing registrations and waitlists, ensuring clear and actionable data on participant preferences.
Improved Resource Management: Ensures optimal utilization of limited spaces and supplies, enhancing overall event organization and satisfaction.
