✉️ Resend an Unopened Email Option for Communications

Description:
It would be incredibly helpful to have an option in Rock Communications to resend an email to recipients who did not open it after a designated period of time—similar to features available in Mailchimp and other email platforms.

Example: https://eepurl.com/dyimxL

Problem:
While Rock provides great tools for sending and tracking email communications, there’s currently no native way to automatically resend an email to people who didn’t open it the first time. For ministries and departments trying to reach their audience (especially for event invites, volunteer needs, or time-sensitive updates), it often requires a workaround or duplicate send.

Proposed Solution:
Add a feature to allows users to:

  • Select a resend option when sending a communication or after it’s sent.
  • Define the delay (e.g., resend to non-openers after 2 or 3 days).
  • Customize the subject line or message for the resend to increase the chance of engagement.
  • Filter recipients to only include those who did not open the original message (based on the existing email open tracking).

Why This Matters:

Follow-up campaigns sent to recipients who didn’t open the original message are a proven strategy for increasing engagement. Mailchimp’s research shows that these resend campaigns can improve open rates by nearly 9% and click-through rates by nearly 2% on average. For ministries using Rock to communicate important updates, event details, or volunteer opportunities, that kind of uplift can significantly extend the reach of a message. Right now, replicating this in Rock requires manual effort, duplicate emails, and extra tracking. A built-in “resend to non-openers” option would simplify this workflow and help teams make sure critical messages don’t go unseen.

Mailchimp: The Value of a Resend Campaign, By the Numbers

This would help ministries:

  • Reach more people with minimal extra effort
  • Avoid spamming people who already engaged
  • Improve overall communication effectiveness, especially for all-church or multi-campus updates

This feature would be a small enhancement with a big impact for teams who rely on Rock to stay connected with their community.
