Improve Date Filter Options in the Financial Batch List Block

Finance

When using the Financial Batch List block in Rock, the current date filter options are limited to: Last 30 days, Last 60 days, Last 90 days, Last 6 months, or All.

The challenge is that we regularly need to access batches older than 6 months—especially during year-end audits. Right now, the only way to do that is by selecting All, which forces Rock to load every batch in the system. This can be very slow and creates noticeable performance issues before we can finally filter down to the specific date range we actually need (e.g., 12 months ago, not 8 years ago).

Proposed Solution:

Add more targeted filter options that reduce the need to load all batches unnecessarily. For example:

 • Last Year

 • Last 2 Years

 • Custom Date Range Selector

This would let users quickly access the right data window, improve usability, and avoid the performance strain caused by loading all historical records at once.

I’m open to other solutions as well—the main goal is to avoid having to load all batches just to filter down to the timeframe needed.
