Mobile Transaction List Block - Filter By Tax Deductible Accounts

Mobile Transaction List Block - Filter By Tax Deductible Accounts

Finance

Description

The Mobile Transaction List block currently displays transactions across all accounts. We would like to add an option so admins can limit which accounts appear—either by selecting specific accounts or an option to show only tax-deductible accounts.

Additional Details & Requirements

Filtering should be managed via block settings to ensure flexibility without increasing complexity for end users. It would be great if one of the two options below were available.

  1. Account Selection: Allow administrators to select one or more specific accounts whose transactions should appear in the list.
  2. Tax-Deductible Filter: Provide an option to display only transactions associated with accounts marked as Tax-Deductible.

Thorough Ministry Need Review

Churches manage a large number of financial accounts—general funds, designated giving, events, missions, internal transfers, non-deductible purchases, and more.

In the context we are using this block, users need to only see their contributions, not other things like event registrations.

Without this filtering, users must manually sift through unrelated transactions.

The WHY

For end users, viewing transaction history should be clear, relevant, and easy to understand. When all accounts are displayed together, users are often presented with transactions that are unrelated to their intent—particularly non–tax-deductible activity—creating confusion and uncertainty about what they are seeing.

Providing the ability to filter transactions by account, or at minimum to display only tax-deductible accounts, helps end users:

  • Immediately recognize which transactions are meaningful to them
  • Better understand their giving history without second-guessing
  • Feel confident that what they are viewing aligns with tax and contribution expectations

This improvement directly supports transparency and trust by ensuring users see only the transactions that matter to them, presented in a way that matches how they naturally think about their giving. A clearer, more focused transaction view leads to a better user experience and reinforces confidence in the platform.
