Duplicate Finder: Custom Grid Action Enhancements

Duplicate Finder: Custom Grid Action Enhancements

CRM

Many times when Duplicate Finder suggests possible duplicates, I need someone to call or follow up with them more directly - for example to figure out which email address they actually want to use. We have a "Data Integrity" connection opportunity where we create requests to follow up on these, but it takes a lot of steps to create these requests.

I would like to add a Custom Grid Action to the grid on the "Duplicate Detail" page, where the possible duplicates for a record are shown. I intend to have the button create a connection request in the correct opportunity (in my case, I would also include links to each of the suggested profiles in the request description).

That is nearly possible today. But this block is an unusual grid so the custom actions don't work in a totally normal way. Two enhancements would make actions like this much more useful:

1. If none of the rows are checked, most grids will create the Entity Set for all of the items. But this grid requires boxes to be checked or else it can't create the entity set. I'd love to see the block automatically include all of the records if none of the records are selected, like other grids.

2. The first (primary?) record in the list is shown but does not have a checkbox. So it is not possible to include that record in the entity set when a custom grid action is used. I'd love to have this record included in the entity sets created by custom grid actions on this block, like it is included when the "Merge Person Records" action is used.
