Add a "Clear Cache" Button to the Check-in App Settings Screen

Check-in

Add a "Clear Cache" button to the hidden settings screen (the five-finger press) in the Rock Check-in App that wipes the device's locally cached check-in data and reloads everything fresh.

Description

When a volunteer or admin does the five-finger press to reach the Check-in App settings, there is currently no built-in way to clear the app's cached state. This request adds a single "Clear Cache" button to that settings screen that resets the cached check-in data so the device pulls the latest configuration on its next load.

Additional Details

Clearing the cache resolves a couple of recurring issues in one tap:

  • It forces the app to fetch the latest assets, including the current background image, rather than serving a stale cached version.

Ideally a brief confirmation prompt precedes the action so it isn't triggered accidentally on a live kiosk.

The Why

The goal is reliable, self-service check-in across every campus. Two recurring friction points trace back to stale cached data: devices that hold onto a previous campus's login and cannot be easily re-pointed, and background images that did not update to match the active campus or season. A single "Clear Cache" action addresses both, reduces support calls during the busiest ministry windows, and keeps the check-in experience consistent and on-brand at every location.
