As the Data Insights & Development Director, you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on the Vision, Mission and Values of SBC. In this role, you will report to Pastor of Central Ministries and are responsible for strategically aligning SBC’s operations with the church’s vision and strategy for the Rock Relational Management System (RockRMS). Your Essential Responsibilities: In this position, you will: • Partner with RockRMS Consultants, and Ministry Leadership to develop, configure, manage data and influence relational information strategies that meet SBC ministry and department needs • Create, plan and manage Rock RMS FY budget • Lead a RockRMS Database team to complete needed tasks and projects • Develop workflows to automate organizational processes • Configure RockRMS to intake, analyze and display church participation data to improve the daily functions and relationships for SBC’s ministry and support department staff • Interact with and empower ministries and support departments with RockRMS driven processes, events, and reporting • Create reports and dashboards with SQL queries • Maximize the relational impact of RockRMS for the entire congregation • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and procedures on RockRMS system additions and changes • Manage policies and procedures related to data security and integrity • Manage system and security access for employees and volunteers • Ensure project and department milestones and goals are met on time and within budget • Assess current and projected database functionality and make recommendations • Provide training documentation and guidelines for end users as needed • Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices for church management software (ChMS) • Partner with the Communications and Web team on implementing the SBC website functionality and integration with RockRMS • Provide relational support to staff, volunteers, and program participants as needed • Related duties or special projects as assigned As a Team Leader, you will: • Act as a servant leader by training, encouraging, coaching, and developing your Team Member(s) • Foster a spirit of trust and of innovation on your team • Meet personally in a pre-scheduled one-on-one meeting with each Team Member at least once a month • Conduct annual performance reviews • Approve PTO requests, timecards, and expense reports Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential): • Related duties or special projects as assigned Skills you need to succeed: Knowledge of: • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) • Rock RMS and ChMS • C# programming language • SQL Demonstrated competency in: • Supervising and developing employees and business processes • Project management • Writing SQL queries and reports • Creating, developing, implementing, leading and driving strategies and projects through to completion • Relational skills, such as demonstrates valuing people, aspires to serve others, fosters a healthy and amiable spiritual environment, is approachable and accessible, works collaboratively with others and in team environments, shows appreciation for own and others’ giftedness • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to: • Recruit, train, shepherd, lead and motivate others • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and accuracy • Shift focus quickly from one project to another • Manage several projects simultaneously • Be a change agent • Successfully manage others and be accountable for the work results of others • Be flexible • Work in a multi-faceted environment with little supervision • Forecast as well as attend to weekly details • Handle confidential information • Discern needs and respond appropriately Personal Qualifications: • Passionate about people and details • Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character • Self-motivated and self-directed • Creativity and problem-solving skills • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills • Desire for individual & professional growth • Positive can-do attitude, takes initiative • Consistently strives for excellence • Demonstrates a sense of urgency • Integrity of work habits and results • Efficient • Team Player • Personable in working with staff and volunteers • Regular attender and SBC member, or willing to become a member Education and/or experience: • High school diploma or equivalent, and earned degrees and/or related training and certifications • 3+ years of experience in or closely related ChMS clientele Eligible employees receive state of the art benefits, including generous Paid Time Off, paid holidays, and group health and welfare plans with generous company premium contributions.
