PURPOSE OF THE JOB This role exists to create quality web-based experiences for internal and external audiences of Grace Church that move them forward in engagement and participation with the church. RESPONSIBILITIES This role is responsible for creating, executing, and optimizing content and campaigns to maximize engagement and next steps through multiple digital channels including websites, email platforms, mobile applications, etc. Website and App • Perform web services management tasks, including but not limited to developing and maintaining overall website functionality and integration, performing web page design and layout, developing web applications, troubleshooting and resolving website performance issues, and advising staff of capabilities, principles, and protocols. • Create basic website layouts and user interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Develop and test new user-facing features. • Oversee website performance through content creation, indexing, analytics, and SEO. • Update the website and mobile app with fresh and relevant content on a weekly basis. • Oversee the development and management of the Grace mobile app. Front-End Development • Integrate front-end user interfaces with back-end resource management system. • Prototype, refine, test, and debug websites and digital engagement methods, including critiquing and soliciting feedback and implementing modifications based on feedback. Engagement • Lead strategic church-wide digital initiatives that propel Grace forward in data management and communication. • Build automations using Rock for engagement processes. • Develop, deploy, and analyze new digital engagement strategies and web projects per campaign, ministry, or event. • Lead and facilitate strategic meetings with ministry teams to audit, plan, and improve digital practices aimed at engaging audiences. • Report on conversions and engagement tracking to improve effectiveness of the website, email, and mobile app. REQUIREMENTS • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • 2-3 years of front-end web development experience. • Experience with mobile development, including responsive design. • Experience designing within content management systems and markup languages. • Demonstrated leadership, people-first communication, and organization skills. • Strong attention to detail and eye for accessibility, performance, modern browsers, security, and user experience. • Experience with Bootstrap, XAML, Lava, Liquid, and Rock RMS a plus. • Experience with UX/UI design is a plus.
