The Rock Technical Lead plays a vital role in overseeing the technical aspects of Bayside Church’s Rock RMS system. This position bridges the gap between support and development teams, ensuring smooth operation and innovation across our Rock ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Rock RMS, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to implement creative solutions to enhance ministry effectiveness.This role requires strong technical skills, experience in similar church environments, and the ability to independently execute complex projects based on high-level direction. Reporting to the IT Director and supervised by the Systems and Campus Integration Specialist, the Rock Technical Lead will provide leadership for the development team while balancing the needs of multiple campuses and focusing on high-impact projects that align with Bayside’s overall mission and strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and optimize the current state of Bayside’s Rock instance.Take ownership of in-house projects, complex workflows, metric dashboards, and Helix initiatives.Oversee and provide direction to the development team, ensuring their work aligns with organizational priorities and technical standards.Leverage Rock RMS to innovate and streamline registration, check-in, and engagement for large-scale events.Technical management of related church technology tools, including WordPress, Clearstream, Planning Center, and others, with an emphasis on integrating and consolidating systems into Rock where feasible.Collaborate with the Systems and Campus Integration Specialist to understand needs and prioritize high-impact projects.Politely and effectively redirect requests that do not align with Bayside’s overall priorities, balancing campus needs with organizational goals.Execute technical projects efficiently, following directions provided by the Systems and Campus Integration Specialist.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the IT Director.Mission CriticalUphold Bayside's Core Values, Staff Culture & Values, Vision Statement, and Points of Accountability.Attend campus, department, and all-campus/all-staff meetings.RequirementsAt least 2 years of experience working with Rock RMS in a similar role.Extensive knowledge of Rock RMS, including workflows, dashboards, and Lava scripting.Proven ability to innovate and implement technical solutions in a ministry context.Experience in a church environment, with a solid understanding of ministry operations.Strong decision-making skills to prioritize projects and balance campus needs effectively.Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, ensuring collaboration and efficiency.Ability to learn advanced tools like Project Helix and HTMX quickly if not already proficient.Active participation in the Rock RMS community to foster mutual support and collaboration.Time Commitment:Full time, may include weekends, evenings and holidays.What Makes You a Great FitYou love problem solvingYou are highly annoyed if someone says “that is not my job”You are self-motivated and can work unsupervisedYou have great conflict resolution skillsYou love people and are patient and kindYou are flexible and excel in a dynamic / changing environmentYou are a team player with a servant heartThis position offers the opportunity to drive technical innovation, lead the development team, and make a lasting impact across Bayside Church’s campuses.
