Installation stuck on first page

I cannot figure out why the installer won't go past the Database Configuration page to the tests.  I assume it's something wrong with the information I put in but it doesn't tell me.  Sometimes I end up back to the Start.aspx page after a while of waiting.  I followed the instructions for Internal Hosting to set it up on a local guy's server who has other SQL databases and websites hosted on it.  He put in a separate 2TB drive for us to use for our church so I'm trying to install it on there.  I'm not sure if something is interfering because of that, or if I didn't set it up right to work with that drive, or if Rock can work in that kind of environment.  Any ideas?

The problem was solved by upgrading the server to Microsoft Server 2012 as well as updating the other components required.  I was then able to get into the installer.

Were you able to figure it out, yet?  It's been awhile since I've done a fresh install but if I remember correctly, we had two issues.

    1) We missed the short note "change Identity setting to LocalSystem" that was in the documentation.

    2) We had to play around with the SQL Server RockUser rights a bit before it worked.  According to the documentation, adding the role dbcreator should be sufficient.  We installed it on one server and four developers local laptops.  One of the five, had a unique issue that required us to go beyond a simple dbcreator role.  Sorry, don't remember the details.

Definately follow every line in the documentation.  If there is a line, that doesn't make sense post a question about that specific line.  It might help someone else answer your question about why the install isn't work.

Hope that helps a little.  Like I said, it's been awhile since I did a fresh install. ;p

Thanks for the advice!  The guy who owns the server I'm using realized that he hadn't upgraded the IIS to 8.0 like I thought he had.  So that was probably the issue.  He's upgrading everything on Friday and then I'll try again after that.  I'm going to start from the beginning and make sure I hit every line like you said and see if it works then.  Thanks!
