0 Check In application not working in Windows 10 3 Greg Leininger posted 9 Years Ago I just tested the Windows Check In client on a laptop I had upgraded to Windows 10. Once I click the Start button on the first screen, I get a blank white screen. A long click in the top left corner still closes it.
Greg Leininger 9 years ago Hi Jon, do you have any update on a release of the Windows check-in application that is compatible with Windows 10?
Jon Edmiston 9 years ago I tested the new Windows Check-in Client on my Windows 10 laptop and it works. I haven't been able to test label printing. We just purchased a Zebra printer for the Spark office but it didn't come with any labels so I haven't been able to test printing yet. Labels are on the way so I should know soon. It's looking like everything should be set for v4.0.
Greg Leininger 8 years ago Thank you Jon! I'm assuming this check-in application that works with Windows 10 is only compatible with Rock version 4, not version 3. In other words, I still need to wait to use it until Rock 4.0 releases?
Jon Edmiston 8 years ago It might work with 3 but I haven't tested that. You can try it: https://rockrms.blob.core.windows.net/externalapplications/sparkdevnetwork/windowscheckin/1.4.0/checkinclient.exe
Greg Leininger 8 years ago I tested it on Rock 3 using Windows 10. Once I click the start button, it tries to load on a white screen, eventually giving me the "That's not supposed to happen" error message with no details. I'll just wait until Rock 4.0 to use my Windows 10 tablet for check in. Thank you Jon.
Don Smallman 8 years ago Thanks Jon! I posted the question before I saw the notes in the admin section about upgrading the applications.
Greg Leininger 9 years ago Thanks for the comment Jeremy. I would also note that even though I changed the default browser back to IE, it made no difference. Still just a blank white screen.
Jeremy Turgeon 9 years ago Hi Keith. Most laptops, especially those with cd-rom drives, are capable of reinstalling their operating systems. If you have a Windows 8 DVD you should be able to wipe Windows 10 from the machine and reinstall it.
Jeremy Turgeon 9 years ago Also, version 4.0 is scheduled for October but the developers haven't said anything, to my knowledge, of it being compatible with Windows 10. It was simply an assumption on my part that it most likely wouldn't be compatible with Windows 10 until AT LEAST 4.0 came out but perhaps later.
