Addresses: adding a new field e.g. Suburb

Hi everyone

hopefully someone has had to deal with this issue.

We would like to add a new field to the Addresses e.g. "Suburb"

how can we go about doing this?

I'm pretty sure this is not possible without custom code to extend core. Addresses are locations in rock and you would need to extend that to handle the new field. One simple option could be to use a person attribute to hold the suburb, but this would not show up next to the address and it would be per-person and not tied to the entire family like address.
