When will Group Attendance be available?

Can the Rock development team please give us some idea of when Group Attendance might be available?

The answer somewhat depends on what you mean by group checkin. If you're talking about on-site group check-in using a check-in kiosk it's available now. If you're talking off-site attendance collection using a page on the external site group leaders can use to report attendance that won't be available until Spring/Summer of 2015.

I was thinking of the screen that allows us to tick who attended a group meeting on a date, that also sets a 'Last touched date' on Person, so that we can run a report that tells us who we are missing from Groups, and how long it has been since someone attended a small group. (This can be entered in the office based off paper reports.)

Great that you've been able to give some date indication. This is really helpful, and puts things in perspective. Do you have a development schedule for other functionality? It would be helpful if this was visible (I know that it is always changing). But part of the difficulty when coming to Rock, and trying to decide, "Do we go with Rock, that can't do this or that YET, but we know it's coming, and can we wait, or do a workaround until it gets here?" This has been my difficulty. People are saying to me - "Go with this (other) solution, it does it all now." And I'm saying, "Yes, but Rock will do it too... soon." But can't tell them when, or how long they need to wait. I understand that is related to the "Rock vision", where you want the community to develop solutions as well as the core team.

In the meantime, can we use check-in functionality as a work around to record attendance?
Does the database have built into now the structure for attendance on dated meetings?

We'll work on a schedule for post 1.0 features. Might be late October before it's posted though as we're all heads down pushing to get the 1.0 release out the door.
