Security: allowing group management

We have decided to allow all of the members of our "Staff" security group to have full "edit" access to our small groups in Group Viewer.

I've added the "Staff" role to the "Edit" security of the Group Viewer page (which gives them the ability to add groups and trickles down to descendants), and also added them to the "Edit" security of the "Small Group" group type. They can do just about anything now, which is good, but the odd thing is that the "Group Members" list is blank ("No Group Members found"). They can add people to the group, but the list stays blank.

I've checked the block security and "View" is allowed, inherited from the Site. "Edit" is also allowed, inherited from the page. So...what gives? I'm obviously missing a security attribute somewhere- can you tell me where?

Thanks

I should mention in case anyone else is following this- I discovered that other staff members were not having this issue- and as it turned out it may have only been one (but since he reported it to me and I checked it out on his profile I assumed that it was all staff).

Looks like a bug. Brad in your database has a filter preference for a role that is not a part of the group type of 'Small Group'. So it doesn't show on the grid filter but it is being applied to the query. This is a bug that we'll fix in v3.0. In the meantime to fix it for Brad have him select a role to filter on (for a group that's a 'Small Group') then clear it. That should get him up and running. We would recommend not using the group member filters until we can apply the fix.

This might be a long shot, but it's worth asking... Are there any filters enabled on the group member list?
