How to use "Organization Unit" Group Type

I noticed this group type which has groups such as "connections, students, administration" etc

how do i use these groups and where can i find them? since they dont appear in the group viewer

    The documentation has a brief description of the purpose of the Organisation Unit Group Type here:

    As DJ has mentioned, this group type is specifically for use in conjunction with the Org Chart.
    The Org Chart (Intranet > Org Chart) is simply a specialized Group Viewer block that is configured to only show Groups of this type.
    The purpose of the Org Chart is simply to provide a visual representation of the management structure of your church.

    I have a feeling every organization will use these a little differently but to access the group tree view you can go to Intranet>Org Chart. 

    I looked around a little for where you noticed these at to get context for answering your question but couldn't find anything about them anywhere but where I mentioned above so this may be a pointless answer.
