Any non-profits or communiy organizations (i.e. not churches) using RockRMS

Hello,

Our congregation has a separate 501(c)(3) community center that has been using the same (other) ChMS package as our church: cost effective, people already somewhat trained how to use. As part of the tech support for the community center, I'm looking at some other options for managing their client information: children who attend programs, volunteers who serve, event registrations, etc. Much of it is similar to church-type management systems. I realize there are already custom-built non-profit database programs (local Boys and Girls club director who is church member, and active in community center gave good referral for what they use), but could RockRMS be a possible solution?

Thanks!

I think your biggest question is whether the information you're looking to manage is mainly person focused, if so Rock can probably meet your needs. You might want to have a play with the demo site and read up on the documentation for a broader picture.

If you have any more specific questions I'd be happy to help.

I agree with Arran. When we wrote Rock we were primarily thinking about the church, but we also tried to keep in mind community centers, parachurch orgs, etc. We even hoped that one day churches would use Rock to help their community. Businesses like swim lessons, gymnastics, dojos could use Rock with very few changes.

It's also worth mentioning that this organization, the Spark Development Network, is also a 501(c)(3) and we use Rock to manage and communicate with our communities, it powers this website, our donations, our books/documentation and now, with Rock v4, event registration.
