Financial Transactions Import

Hi,

Is it possible to import financial transactions? It would be helpful for us if it could, rather than adding transactions individually to a batch. Currently we are listing all our transactions in an excel sheet and import the file afterwards to the accounting system.

Hi, Our church does something similar, we collect all the offering and record them on an excel worksheet. The question is, how do we take the data that we already have on each person and import (or load) them into Rock?

I think the idea is that you should be recording the contributions directly into Rock. What's the purpose of the extra step of placing them on a spreadsheet?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Rock "imports" transactions via scanned checks, counted cash, or online giving. There is no EXporting of financial data, but you shouldn't be recreating every transaction in Rock to import into your GL, anyway. Batch ototals are all that need to be posted from Rock to your financial package.

We have something similar in our church. We use Sage for our accounting . We also want to use Rock as it useful to see contribution records per person.

Our finance team feels this is double entry and time wasting.

Is it possible to post transactions and batches to directly to the database ?

We could then create a query that posts the exported sage data

We currently use another pastoral care software that has been recording the giving for some time. We are now looking to move to the rock system but would like to know how we can enter the giving data for each member for the last few years. I understand this could be a long process but how can we go about doing this.
