Enhancements to Achievements

Engagement

The power of Achievements and its ability to enhance the check-in experience to the Children's ministries in the Rock community has been greatly enhanced these past few years! As outlined in the documentation for Celebrations and creating Achievement Labels to act as prize tickets to get kids excited about returning to church each Sunday.

After having tested this and getting ready for another school semester and needing to restart the achievements that drive that concept above, it's currently a challenging experience for the Rock admin to "reset" this system for the Children's Ministry on a seasonal basis.

With that said, the following are proposals that would help speed up this semi-regular process:

  • Copy Achievement function
    • Same copy/duplicate behavior as other Rock grid row items such as the Email/System Communication Templates
  • Filter options on the Achievement Types list grid
    • Today you can't filter out IsActive Achievement Types, would also help if Achievement Type Categories are supported for filtering and some other major fields related to Achievement Types
  • Make the start/end dates useful beyond just the time frame that the achievement counts for or create a "reset" function on an Achievement Type:
    • Today updating the existing Achievements start/end date has no impact on "resetting" the Achievement even if rebuilding the dataset tied to it
    • If using achievements for check-in purposes that needs to be used year after year, today you'd have to recreate each and every achievement since the start/end dates don't have any effect on resetting the achievement data
    • You can track previous year's achievements by adding a Step to the person reaching the Achievement today. So having a reset option on the Achievement would save boatloads of time without the need to recreate them all from scratch. There's also a lot involved with wiring up Achievements to check-in that recreating them is a challenging process
