Group Security

Hi,

I not sure what I am doing wrong.  I am trying to allow certain users to be able to administer their own group.  I clicked on the gropu that I want them to administer and then click on the secure group Icon.  I have added a user to both "Edit" and "Administrate" , however the + plus sign never shows up to allow them to add new users to their group.

What am I missing?

Thanks D.J.  I did read through the manual, but it has not helped with this.  Below is the image of the group security for the person I am working on.  It shows that they have been added to the administrate tab for this group.  I also added them to the edit tab when adding them to the administrate tab did not work.  I am doing all of this from the group viewer.  The second image is as me looged in as that user and as you see... No + sign to add people.

    Hey Keith,

I just tested this and it's working great for me. I gave a test person user privileges in one group and security group privileges in another and in both cases they where able to edit the group and add people.

One mistake I often make when dealing with individuals is that I search for them, select the dot next to the person name, and then click done. Then wonder why my change didn't happen.

For me I never see the "select" button. I have to scroll to get to that. Which I forget more times then not.  (see images below).

I know that may have been a "Duhh" type of reply but it's a mistake I make probably 50% of the time.

Also have you double checked the Admin Hero Manual. There is a whole section on Security Roles. A quick look made me wonder if you have other roles assigned to that group also....

I was able to replicate your problem and then got it worked out.

What you have to do is give your person edit privileges on the group viewer page AND in each individual group you want them to be allowed to edit.

Thanks DJ! That worked, however it appears that they can add groups. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Good question...I am not sure. I am can't figure out how to give people ability to edit a group without also letting them create groups. But I am with you in thinking this is often not idea.
