Problems entering in Baptism date and School Name

I have two seperate problems:

1. The only people that can enter Baptism dates have to have securtiy rights as an administrator.  This doesn't make sense only a select few should have Administrator rights not everyone that does data entry.  Even the securtiy roll of Staff doesn't allow a staff person to add a baptism date.  

2.  The option for school name is not available the only choices we have are school "nearby" is this a glitch of some sort?  There needs to be a way to add the name of the school.

 

Thanks in advance anyone out there that has some input would be appreciated.

    1. It's pretty simple to change who can view and edit this information once you know where to look. Go to General Settings>Person Attributes then click on the security button (looks like a lock) on the category you are trying to update. By default everyone should be able to view this info. Add a Staff Role (or whichever you choose) to be able to edit. You might benefit from some of the resources available about security.     2. Schools are a defined type. To edit go to General Settings>Defined Type and then scroll to find the school option. From here you can list your schools and grades available in each. It might be a good idea to pock around in the defined types to see what else is available to be customized specifically for your organization.       To add to question 1: you might want to edit who can edit each person attribute. We have some set for all staff while others are limited to just one ministry or even a few people. Don't rush these settings. Making sure the information is being entered by the right people is important. :-)
