    Define Printers in Rock

    Note

    For Simplified Printing
If you are using the simplified printer setup where you are printing from the client and specifying the printer in the iPad or Windows application, you do not need to define the printers in Rock.

To add printers in Rock for selection when configuring locations, group-types or kiosks, follow the steps below:

    1. Navigate to the Devices page under Admin Tools > Check-in > Devices.
    2. Select a printer device to edit or add a new printer.
    3. From the device details screen:
      1. Give your printer a name.
      2. Enter the printer's IP address or hostname in IP Address / Hostname.
      3. Select the device type of Printer. The printer settings appear.
      4. Set Label Resolution (DPI) to the printer's resolution. Next-Gen check-in uses it to size labels for the printer. The default is 203.
      5. Select Has Cutter if the printer has an auto-cutter attached. Rock then cuts the labels at the end of each label set printed from the server.
      6. If you print through Cloud Printing, set Proxy Device to your proxy. See Set up Cloud Printing.

Now that your printers are defined, you can configure them to be used on either locations Admin Tools > Check-in > Named Locations or kiosks Admin Tools > Check-in > Devices.
