Often, you'll want to have someone electronically sign a document as part of a workflow. This is super easy because there's a Workflow Action Type designed just for that. The Electronic Signature action type will present the person with a document to sign from within the workflow, similar to a workflow form. Signature Document Template - Select the template for the document the person will be asked to sign. This is where crafting a clear and concise name for your template pays off. Note, if you define the template here then the next field below will be ignored.Select Signature Document - Here you can provide either a Signature Document Template's ID, or its GUID. Or you can use a workflow attribute to assign the document type. This allows you to have multiple signature documents in the same workflow. This area of the setup will be ignored if you specified aSignature Document Templatein the field above.Applies to Person - You can set an attribute of type Person to indicate who the document applies to. In the case of a parent filling out a form for their child, the child would be the person the document applies to.Assigned To Person - This is the person who is responsible for signing the form. In the case of a parent filling out a form for their child, this would be the parent.Signed by Person - Select the Person attribute that represents the person who actually signed the document. If the person is logged in, then they will be assigned as theSigned by Personregardless of the value of this attribute.Signature Document - This is the attribute that holds the signature document itself. This attribute should be of typeBinary Fileand should use a File Type ofDigitally Signed Documents.Signature Document Name - This Lava-enabled field lets you set the name of the document that gets created using this action. In this example we're using the names of the Signed by Person and the Applies to Person to dynamically generate the name of the document. After the electronic signature is captured, the person is asked to provide an email address so they can be sent a copy of the document for their records.
