Payment gateways can be configured under Admin Tools > Settings > Financial Gateways. Many settings are similar between gateways, so we'll examine the Test Gateway as an example. We created the Test Gateway to let you sample Rock's tools without having to configure an actual payment gateway. But don’t be fooled by the name. Changing the Gateway Type and providing real configuration makes the Test Gateway function like any other live gateway. To avoid potential issues, we recommend against changing its configuration. Name - The name of the gateway can be changed, but this is rarely needed.Description - A good description is helpful if you plan to have multiple gateways of the same type.Active - Be careful when making a gateway Inactive. An Inactive status does not prevent charges from being processed for registrations where the gateway is already assigned.Gateway Type - This determines which gateway you'll be using.Batch Schedule - You can choose to have Rock create batches daily, or weekly on a specified day.Batch Time Offset - By default, online payments will be grouped into batches with a start time 12:00:00 AM. However, if the payment gateway groups transactions into batches based on a different time, this offset can be specified so that Rock will use the same time when creating batches for online transactions.Gateway Mode - What you see here varies based on the Gateway Type. Sometimes you'll see options for a live mode (transactions are real and will be processed) or a test/sandbox mode (transactions are not processed). In other gateways you'll see Hosted and Unhosted, as pictured above. If Hosted is selected, the payer will leave your app or website to make the payment and then come back to your website to complete the checkout process. Check with your provider if you're unsure which one to use. Use Unhosted for the Test Gateway. Other Configuration Steps The Test Gateway doesn't require credentials or login information, but other gateways will. Typically you'll receive or create these credentials as part of your setup with the gateway provider. After you're done setting up your gateway, you'll need to set it as the active gateway on giving pages.
